Rorstrand was founded in 1726 and is one of Sweden’s oldest manufacturing companies. In 1897 Alf Wallander, a painter became artistic director and the company moved in a more artistic direction reflecting the prevailing Japoniste and Art Nouveau style. Rorstrand participated in important national and international expositions between 1891 and 1914. Nils Lundstrom was one of the ceramic artists during Wallander’s tenure and Rorstrand’s peak.
